Issue 8: March 2019 Newsletter
The old adage “April Showers Bring May Flowers” is a treasured one. Some are eager for the rainy season to come, knowing that though the days may seem gloomy, they will see the springing up of beautiful flowers as a sign of Spring finally setting in. Why not come together during the entire month and pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit known as the “latter rain” to render fruits that evidence the power of God within? God promises the following:
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8, NKJ)
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14, NKJ)
“Yes, let us know (recognize, be acquainted with, and understand) Him; let us be zealous to know the Lord [to appreciate, give heed to, and cherish Him]. His going forth is prepared and certain as the dawn, and He will come to us as the [heavy] rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth.” (Hosea 6:3, Amplified Bible)
Let us make every effort to take to heart these promises and make them our own. The Bible invites us to “not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9, NIV). That’s why we’re inviting you and your family to come together for our Spring revival “Are We Almost There” with Pr. Jim Reinking, from April 17-20. Mark your calendars and make a special effort to be present. It will prove to be time of spiritual renewal like none other. We will be having different prayer initiatives emphasizing our greatest need and our greatest Asset, the Holy Spirit. If God is so eager to bestow Him (Luke 11:13), let’s join together in diligently seeking Him.

Elder Bud Godfriaux
Fellow Seventh Day Adventist Christians,
I recently had what I would describe as both a very interesting and somewhat disturbing conversation with one of my siblings. For background, she married into the Roman Catholic Church about 30 years ago, has become quite devout, studies and prays daily. We’ve had several deep conversations about our faith and differences in church doctrine. During the above said conversation she mentioned several “visits” from our recently deceased mother. Upon hearing this I urged her to study biblical accounts concerning the state of the dead, and added that according to scripture the spirit that visited was not our mother. She became very upset and the conversation ended abruptly. I questioned my tact for a time, too late realizing her traditional view that our mother is now an angel in heaven. Prayers are needed that a seed was planted, to be nurtured by the Holy Spirit, and she will indeed study the topic as biblically related, her eyes opened, and her heart prepared to receive.
With this said, I’ve become emboldened the more this conversation weighs on my mind. Church family, Satan’s deceptions and attacks are relentless! As God’s church we can unite and respond relentlessly! Together we can expose deception and make our stand against falsehood at every opportunity. In the politically correct atmosphere we find ourselves living today this is no easy task, but we have the power of God behind us! We all believe that Christ’s return is imminent, together we can humbly uphold our Seventh Day Adventist identity! Together we can courageously represent our founding doctrine as well as the light entrusted to us through God’s word and the Spirit of Prophecy! We are called to be a distinguished people, to pitch our tents apart from the world, we have been entrusted with distinctive messages as found in Revelation 14, the three angel’s messages. We are privileged to have been called to spread those messages to the world! May God inspire our efforts to tactfully expose the enemy’s deceptions through the truth we have been blessed with, thus bringing souls under the banner of Christ.
Praying for God’s blessings on us all,
